Fresh off of his commentating of the WSOP we have Joe Stapleton, aka @Stapes. A poker commentator for ESPN and Poker Stars, based out of Los Angeles, California.

As a communications major hailing from Boston University, Joe has always used comedy as a driver. Known for his social media vigilantism, Joe has used his comedy to make a name for himself as a poker commentator, stand up comedian and a social media influencer.

In his early days of poker commentating, Stapes launched a very successful podcast called Two Jacks in a Hole. The show had several episodes that cracked the Itunes comedy top 10. Even with the found success in podcasting Stapes sheds a light on enjoying any victory no matter big or small. Maybe if something was great its not supposed to be left as is.

You can connect with Stapes on Twitter, @Stapes, and on Facebook at @JoeStapesStapleton

Episode 027: Zach Weinberg - The Evolution of Media in Big Music and the Marleys

April 28, 2017
00:0000:00

The Bus talks with Zach WeinbergHead of New Media at Tuff Gong Worldwide - Ziggy Marley's record label. Music is evolving rapidly as social media and new streaming tools converge... and Zach is sitting at the forefront of this evolution. Besides new media, Zach is also one of the historians for the Marley estate and their licenses and works with major industry leaders like Universal Music, WME, and others.

"Music is a marketing tool," in this day and age and this leaves many questions about where the industry is headed, for artists, consumers, and marketers alike. Such questions as: How will music evolve and survive in the day of low-cost streaming? How do we find new fans through rapid changing market preferences? What are technologies coming out to disrupt the market?

There is another battle going on though; the battle between art and making that art seen by the world. So how do you merge raw talent with what the market wants - without removing their artistic integrity? These are just a few of the many questions we ponder in this episode.

As with all of our guests - we explore Zach's love and interest in his occupation and how he reached his current role. This bus ride also explores the potential for A.I in the music industry. As a coup de grace to an incredible episode... Zach gives us some historic and detailed cognizance into the rise of Bob Marley.

This is an interesting take on the social + marketing side of music.  We also had a conversation with Joe Silberzweig, marketing manager for Live Nation and festival promoter extraordinaire that you can check out if you enjoyed this conversation.

April 22, 2017
00:0000:00

Michael Hinden took a chance and moved out to California during the medical marijuana gold rush. He sought after his passion for botany and plants and left behind a job in his father's law firm.

Michael and his company Private Stock Veganics are in a pursuit to provide the highest grade cannabis-derived from truly natural and organic techniques. He's made a brand that's respected for its quality above all else. They are on a mission in order to bring the marijuana industry back to a more natural approach to raising their plants.

This episode isn't just about plants. The boys cover an array of topics from education, technologies, medicine, mimicking aspects of homo sapiens, as well how to return to cohesion between humans and animals.

Looking for another show about the marijuana business or drug politics? We had a conversation with Danny Perdeck (CEO of Green Roads World) talking the growing CBD and Marijuana industries.

Episode 025: Jared Firestone - Sacrifice

April 18, 2017
00:0000:00

Jared Firestone,@jfireskeleton, is an ex-collegiate track athlete attempting to break into the ranks of the U.S. Skeleton and Bobsled teams.  He recently just returned from the U.S. Nationals and is currently preparing for training sessions with the Elite Development Group in Latvia and Norway.

Jared ran track at Tulane and after college, he wasn't willing to give up on his athletic dreams. After watching skeleton one T.V. one day, he took a leap of faith to jump-start his career.

As with many of our guests, Jared has had to show extreme determination, risk, and sacrifice to make the impossible - possible. He has had to forgo his law career and has had difficulty finding a stable job that will support him while he trains. And beyond the potential for failure, skeleton is a dangerous sport. To Jared, the risk is worth the reward.

This episode explores the psyche of a strong-willed and determined young man not willing to accept mediocrity. We also talk skeleton training techniques, the potential of athletes as influencers in the 21st century, and intangibles of success.

Looking for another show about athletics? Our conversation with Wes Byrum – Life After Sports, explores difficulties athletes have when they are finished.
